This aerial view of Chandler's
Ford in 1950 was taken before the concentrated development
of the area that took place following the Second World War
and looks towards the North. In the centre of the photograph
are the row of shops that is 'The Parade', slightly above
and to the right is the old post office building and to the
left of that you can make out the railway station. The main
Bournemouth Rd is running from the bottom of the photograph
up to the right with Chalvington Rd joining it from the bottom
right corner.
